CRASH Services have added to their in-house estimating team with the appointment of Sean McLaughlin.
CRASH have been running a bodyshop estimating service for comprehensive insurance repairs for over 5 years. Gerry Quinn, an industry veteran with over 40 years’ experience in the trade, developed the offering. Growth in repairers needing the service which has led to the recruitment of Sean McLaughlin. Sean comes with a long history in the repair sector. Most recently he worked at Lloyd Cooke Motors in Drumahoe and has 30 years of experience. Sean will be based at CRASH’s new Derry/ Londonderry branch, which opened in September as part of the company’s expansion plans. Paul Cooney, Fleet and Repair Director commented “We are delighted to welcome Sean to our team. Our aim is to support bodyshops who work with us and Sean’s key aim is to help them. Between Gerry and Sean, they have over 70 years’ experience. Repairers already using CRASH Services comment on the professionalism and responsiveness of both Gerry and Sean. “Repairers need to get properly paid for each job so they can continue to invest in staff and equipment.
The aim of this estimating service is to ensure that repairers receive the right labour hours, rate, paint & materials plus all specialist charges and obtain the correct parts prices. Sean has been a real asset to our new branch in the Northwest. He carries out desk based estimates and onsite inspection at the request of the repairer, usually within 24 hours. The same applies to Gerry.” CRASH are best known for their
non-fault service to motorists, where they work with an established panel of Independent engineers.
However garages were requesting help on comprehensive (at-fault) repairs too, which lead to the establishment of the estimating service. The full package includes preparation of a full audatex estimate, providing manufacturer repair method research information and negotiations with an insurer’s appointed engineer if required. Vehicle valuation data can also be provided.
